WVU offers a large number of merit-based scholarships to incoming, first-time freshmen students. For most awards, no separate application is required. Merely completing the admissions application and having transcripts and ACT/SAT scores sent to WVU gets the process started. Please note that for most scholarships, all information must be received by the WVU Admissions Office no later than February 1 of the senior year in order to received scholarship consideration. Some exceptions do exist, as noted on the individual resident and non-resident scholarship charts.
Please note: The Scholarship deadline has been extended to June 15, 2016, for most scholarships on our web pages. Note that students taking the new version of the SAT test, first given in March, 2016, have different test score requirements than those taking the test prior to March, 2016. Super scoring will only be done for each version of the SAT. New SAT scores will not be used with old SAT scores to obtain a Super score..
